Effects of Hydro-priming and Seed Size on the Germination, Root, and Shoot of Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L. var. NSIC Pn18) Grown under Drought Conditions

This study aimed to assess the effects of hydro-priming duration and peanut seed size on germination performance root shoot characteristics seedlings under drought conditions. Two experiments were conducted laboratory nursery. Peanut sizes (S1: small seeds S2: large seeds) designated as main plots, priming (P1: 0 hour, P2: 5 hours, P3: 10 hours) was considered subplots. A 2 × 3 split-plot completely randomized design with three replications used. Ten ten placed in 4 inch plastic containers for experiment 25 cm cellophane pot per treatment filled dry soil at 10% moisture content. Large soaked 5–10 hours emerged earlier than unsoaked this study. Final enhanced bigger also resulted an increase index (seeds day−1) seedling vigor index. Likewise, larger produced shorter shoots plant height but broader more leaves. It is recommended that can be a good source planting materials when planted conditions primed hours. However, unprimed smaller used moist The interaction effect noted fresh weight plants affected by hydro-priming. Higher exposed regardless obtained.
